Secret #2: Getting Flat Abs
Requires Food
Getting flat abs doesn't happen when you deprive yourself of food. Most people
think they will burn off belly fat by staying hungry all of the time. This faulty thinking comes from the many fad
diets that try to achieve results by creating large calorie deficits.
There are some major problems created when you don't eat enough each day. One of the most
significant things that happens is your metabolism slows down. You don't want a slow metabolism when you are
getting flat abs.
Body fat is a source of energy that is required for proper functioning of our bodies. When we
drastically reduce our caloric intake our body goes into starvation mode.
This means our body tenaciously clings to its fat reserves for future energy needs. One way it does
this is by slowing down how much fat is burned while you are resting. This means we actually need fewer calories to
function each day.
So now our body, in this adapted state, will actually gain weight on fewer calories
than before we went on the crash diet. This is not how to lose belly fat.
Getting flat abs by trying the crash diet method
usually results in one or more of the following:
-
Losing weight for a couple of weeks but gaining it all back and more after going off the diet.
-
Daily binges in the evening to compensate for functioning all day with too severe of a calorie deficit.
-
Cycles of weight loss and gain that result in frustration and ultimate failure to achieve the desired
goal.
-
Decrease in exercise time due to lack of energy.
-
Difficulty thinking because the brain needs certain levels of essential nutrients.
-
You can't build strong muscles and bones with a severe calorie deficit.

The last thing someone trying to lose belly fat and get flat abs
needs to do is slow down their metabolism. Instead, you should seek to turn up your body's metabolism so that it
becomes a fat-burning machine. Making this small mental
shift will dramatically change how you look at losing weight and getting flat abs.
When you start learning what to eat, how much to eat, and when to eat you will notice amazing
results as quickly as it is possible. Professional bodybuilders will always tell you that proper nutrition is the
key to maintaining a body that has little fat and much muscle.
Requiring food to lose fat goes against conventional dieter's wisdom. This is why it is so
important to learn the truth about losing belly fat and getting
flat abs the right way. You can learn more about why low-calorie diets don't work by clicking here.
